On April 30- May 2, USF is hosting the third annual Innovations
in Journalism
Conference, with over 500
journalists,
educators, students, community advocates and media reformers. Produced
by Independent Arts & Media, the Society of Professional
Journalists-Northern California, the Department of Media Studies and
Journalism
Program of the University of San Francisco, and the G.W. Williams Center
for Independent Media, the conference features workshops on best
practices in investigating,
reporting, editing, collaborating and circulating news, panel
discussions about
student media, journalism education, the future of the Internet, and
international
news coverage; as well as hands-on technology training. On Sunday
afternoon, the
Remake Camp takes over
and
presents an interactive unconference, sharing insider knowledge about
social
media technology. Both conferences are free and open to all members of
the
University of San Francisco Community. For more information, contact
Professor
Dorothy Kidd, kiddd@usfca.edu.
