When in doubt, make the call.

Please report the following types of incidents:

• Title IX violations (sexual violence or other gender-based harassment or discrimination)
• Distressing student behavior that would not constitute an emergency
• Medical concerns (ex., eating disorders or substance use/abuse)
• Academic dishonesty
• Bias-related incidents
• Other concerning student behavior that you would like to report

What you can expect when reporting:

Whenever you report anything to the Crisis Management and Behavioral Intervention Team (CMBIT), you can expect to have every incident taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.

You will be asked for basic information about the student, your contact information (in case the team has follow-up questions), and a description of the incident or behaviors that prompted the referral.


In an on-campus emergency, call 24 hour dispatch at x2911 from a campus phone or 415-422-2911 from a cell phone and state your location.

-Possession of a weapon

-Suicidal actions or threats

-Acts or threats of violence/sexual violence

-Psychotic episode (e.g., out of control emotions, hearing voices, tangential speech)
-Student injury, illness, or death

This includes disclosure of a non life-threatening, but still concerning, personal issue that may interfere with a student’s academic or developmental success.

- Eating disorder

- Substance abuse issue

-Death of a family member/friend

-Disclosure of past traumatic experience (i.e., sexual violence)

- Medical condition

- Housing/roommate concern

-Any pattern of odd behaviors that may pose a (non-emergency) threat to safety
